« on: September 06, 2008, 06:44:46 PM »
Do they do a range of 24v bulbs. What I'm looking at is the 24v version of the 1157 BAY15D, BA9S 9mm miniture base 5 led and some feeston?

Hello,
There is a 24V version of the 1156 and 1157 19 LED bayonet bulbs. Currently there is no 24V version for the festoons or 9mm BA9S but they can be sourced if you are willing to wait or are after a reasonable quantity. What are you after exactly?

Cheers,

Hi Carl, These are the type of bulbs the are in the house bus I have. The 9mm bulbs are for down light as in the old coach swivel reading lights(Trying to keep light fittings as fits in with the style). There are 16 lights. The festoon bulbs are 30mm long but only need 4. Maybe better to stick to useing 12V and use a 24v to 12v reducer on these two cicuits.
Cheers

Yea I think using 12V would be the better way to go and we have the 31mm festoons on hand in cool white. The advantage of using LEDs is that the power consumption is much lower so you will have very little losses in any power supply.

Regarding the BA9S bulbs, it is important to note the direction the bulb will be facing. We have two types, one with a single 10mm LED where all the light comes out the end, and a 5x LED one with 4 of the LEDs facing out the sides so the light goes in all directions. I am looking at sourcing a 9 LED version of the BA9S which will be brighter, but this will be a while away.

Cheers,

Thanks for that. Once I get to set these circuits up I will order one of each first to see which is best.
